Mission
The mission of the Breastfeeding Coalition of Placer
County is to
promote and support breastfeeding as a vital part of the health and
development of children and their families in our communities.
Vision
To ensure breastfeeding is recognized as the normal method of infant
and young child feeding in Placer County; all health care providers in
Placer County will be knowledgeable about, promote, and provide support for
breastfeeding; and every woman in Placer County will have access to the
information, resources and community support necessary to breastfeed for as
long as she wishes.
Goals
- Improve the access for Placer County families to comprehensive,
current, and culturally appropriate breastfeeding care and services.
- Promote breastfeeding awareness and education for health care providers and
agencies serving new mothers and their families.
- Inform the public about the existence of breastfeeding support networks.
