ACCOMMODATING LACTATING EMPLOYEES

Outline employee's rights, how to request accommodation, how the employer will respond, and how to file a complaint
Allow Break Time
A "reasonable amount" of time is likely around 20-30 minutes but is not defined by law
Break time is concurrent with paid break, but taking longer can be unpaid
Provide Appropriate Location
Not a bathroom, safe, clean and free from intrusion
Close proximity to workspace, access to electricity, a place to sit, and a surface to place a pump
Access to sink with running water, and refrigerator or cooler for milk storage
